Good news for vehicle owners! The federal government has reduced petrol prices by Rs 7.54 per litre, effective August 1, 2025, providing some relief to drivers across the country. However, diesel users will see a small increase.
As per the Finance Division’s latest update issued on July 31, the new price of petrol is now Rs 264.61 per litre, down from Rs 272.15. On the other hand, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has increased by Rs 1.48, reaching Rs 285.83 per litre, compared to the previous rate of Rs 284.35.
This comes just two weeks after the government had increased both petrol and diesel prices. At that time, petrol went up by Rs 5.36 and diesel by Rs 11.37 per litre.
