Toyota Set to Launch First Locally Made Corolla HEV
Toyota begins local production of Corolla HEV in Pakistan, with launch expected soon.
There are few battery electric cars available in Pakistan due to the need for more infrastructure in the country. However, Hybrid electric vehicles are far more successful than other electric cars.
Taking the lead, Toyota is set to introduce its first locally-made Corolla HEV which is expected to be launched in December 2023.
Before this, Toyota had introduced some of the best Hybrid SUVs as the Rav4 Hybrid Electric, and Camry Hybrid Electric (Sedan).
Recently, the CEO of the Indus Motors Company, Ali Jamali disclosed in an announcement confirming the initiative of a $100 million investment in the country that would help in reducing import expenditures with $37 million in savings.
This initiative is likely to expand the growing hybrid electric vehicle market in the country with more contenders to compete. More like, MG Motors' new EVs dominating battery electric vehicle demand in Pakistan.
Along with the economic development and diminishing climate change impacts, such moves will encourage global automobile investors, showing interest in the growing market of EVs.
The upcoming launch of the Toyota Corolla HEV in Pakistan is more than just the introduction of a new vehicle; it's a step towards a more sustainable future in transportation.
This initiative represents a milestone for Toyota but a leap forward for Pakistan in assuming green technology in the automotive sector.
