Mobile Prices Drop As Regulatory Duties on Luxury Items Expire

On March 31, 2023, the regulatory duties imposed on the import of luxury items, including vehicles and mobile phones, expired. As a result, the prices of mobile phones have decreased by 25%, which is a significant reduction of up to 10 to 15 thousand rupees in Pakistan. This reduction in mobile prices comes after the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) confirmed that there is no urgency to immediately re-impose regulatory duties on the import of vehicles and luxury mobile phones.

Infinix Mobile Prices Reduced

Infinix, a popular mobile brand in Pakistan, is among the first to implement the new prices. The Infinix Note 12, previously priced at Rs63,999, is now available for Rs54,999, a reduction of Rs9,000. The Infinix Hot 12  is now priced at Rs44,999, which is also a reduction of Rs9,000 from its earlier price of Rs53,999.

With the removal of regulatory duties, other mobile phone brands are also expected to follow suit and reduce their prices, providing a welcome relief to consumers in Pakistan. This reduction in prices is sure to benefit many who had been struggling to afford mobile phones due to high prices. It's a positive development for the industry and will ultimately benefit consumers in the long run.

In conclusion, the expiry of regulatory duties on luxury items has resulted in a significant decrease in mobile phone prices, with Infinix being among the first brands to implement new prices. There is hope that other mobile phone brands will also reduce their prices, providing relief to consumers in Pakistan. It is indeed good news for everyone who has been struggling to purchase a mobile phone due to high prices.
